It’s 2015! Is this the year when you will quit smoking? Or will you finally maintain that healthy lifestyle that you want? Whatever your new year’s resolutions may be, there is an app that will help you meet those goals. So grab your smartphone and set yourself up for a year of success.

Quit Smoking

If quitting smoking is at the top of your list for 2015, the experts at the American Cancer Institute have brought you the QuitPal app where you can set your goal to quit smoking and receive tips and reminders to stay on track. Another feature of the app is that it allows you to connect with a community of other people who are also working on quitting smoking – providing you with motivation and encouragement along your journey.

Another free app worth checking out is the LIVESTRONG MyQuit Coach app. This app allows you to set a personal goal of quitting “cold turkey” or decreasing nicotine intake gradually. As you log your cravings and smoking behavior, the app automatically adjusts your plan to make you most newy1successful.

Lose Weight (And Get Healthy)

If a smaller pants size is your number one priority for 2015, there are many apps available to help you with that goal. A personal favorite of mine is the MyFitnessPal app. With this app you can track your food intake with a very user-friendly system where you can scan the barcode of your breakfast yogurt and the app adds the nutritional information to your daily tracker. It also syncs with your Fitbit, Jawbone or other fitness tracker – automatically adding calories burned to your daily tally. You can also connect with friends using the app to provide words of encouragement and celebrations of success.

Lose It! is another highly rated free app that helps you set (and keep!) your health and fitness goals. You can look at your eating and fitness activities for a single day, or take a look at the week as a whole to see how you’ve done overall.

Save Money

December is a big month for spending so it is no surprise that saving money is a new year’s resolution for many people. The Mint app is my long-time favorite for this area. By inputting all of your financial information into the app, you can see in a snapshot view where your money is going. The app also reminds you when bills are due so that you can avoid those late fees that can send newy3your credit score down the tubes.

Get Organized

If clutter rules your life and organization is not your strong-suit, the Evernote app will be one that you need to download. You can use it to record to-do lists, keep copies of articles you find useful and compile all of your favorite weeknight recipes. You can even use it to store receipts to make it easier to do your taxes.

Let 2015 be the year of you - hook yourself up with one of these apps and you will be on your way to reaching those goals!
